GovernmentI've still got a lot to learn about
Washington. Why, yesterday I accidentally spent some of my own money. Blessed are the young, for they shall
inherit the national debt. No, I look at the senators and pray
for the country. The welfare state kills more poor
people in a year than private business.

you have a hell of an opening, coast for a while and then have a hell of a close.
This American system of ours...call
it Americanism, call it capitalism, call it whatever you like, gives to each and every one
of us a great opportunity if we only seize it with both hands and make the most of it. Democracy is the process by which
people choose the man who'll get the blame. We hear about constitutional rights,
free speech and the free press. Every time I hear those words I say to myself, "That
man is a Red, that man is a Communist." You never heard a real American talk in that
manner. Books with many interesting and amusing quotes include The Wit and Wisdom of Politics, edited by Chuck Henning (Fulcrum Publishing) and Bartlett's Familiar Quotations. You may find them in your local library, bookstore, or on-line booksellers like Amazon Books and Barnes and Noble .
