Fur Free Friday

An annual event held the Friday after
Thanksgiving, for example on November 24, 2006. It's an event to help
stop the fur trade and the skinning of animals. It aims to "educate
people about the horrors suffered by fur bearing animals". It has been
going on since 1986 and continues to build each year as more and more
people become aware of the situation of skinning and fur farming.

The Community Animal Project (CAP) goes out
each day searching for dogs and cats in need of a better shelter, such
as a new dog house or to be unchained and fed. Spay and Neuter
Immediately Please (SNIP) is an active group that works to help animals
become healthy and safe in their environment. “Angels for Animals” helps
people take action towards animals, pushing for spay/neuter ordinances
in their communities, reporting cruelty, helping homeless animals, and
encouraging others to do the same.

Works "to protect farm animals from
cruelty, to protect the public from the dangerous misuse of antibiotics,
hormones, and other chemicals used on factory farms, and to protect the
environment from the impacts of industrialized animal factories." One of
their biggest campaigns is to stop veal factory farming. The conditions
are harsh and are causing the veal to become tainted with disease.
This website focuses mainly on
factory farming and slaughtering abuse and how to get involved in
boycotts and campaigns towards are more humane way of life. -ARB

One of the best websites for how
to help animals that are being abused, mistreated, or tested on. It’s a
great website, easy to use, and has a lot of useful resources, such as
stores, adoption sites, and ways you can get involved. -ARB
