       Works through education, collaboration and dissemination. Also engages in a comprehensive advocacy strategy focusing on issues of statewide and national interest to New Yorkers in collaboration with other human service advocates.
       The website is easy to follow. It contains information about drug abuse and addiction, as well as times for upcoming local meetings and events in New York State. This site also contains links to other similar organizations. -OCC
       Although their meetings are of little use if you don't live in New York, their website has plenty of information for people everywhere. For those that live in or near New York, ASAP is very helpful and sincere in its mission. -MGM

       A substance abuse prevention and education agency that develops programs and materials based on the most current scientific research on drug use and its impact on society.
       Provides information used to educate many people about drug abuse, whether the person is an adult or a minor. Also provides many links to other drug prevention sites and to sites regarding research done in the field.
        Appealing web site that is very easy to navigate: has individual sections for health professionals, educators, youth, parents, etc. to reach everyone. -EL

       Provides many additional resources related to its work, such as prevention of substance abuse, AIDS prevention and drug awareness.

       I agree with the above. This site is mainly geared toward scientific research of the consequences of drug abuse. -KHK

     Supports more than 85% of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. NIDA-supported science addresses the most fundamental and essential questions about drug abuse, ranging from the molecule to managed care, and from DNA to community outreach research.
     Provides in-depth information regarding many illegal substances, such as ecstasy, heroin, marijuana and other drugs.
     Mission is to lead the nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. This charge has two critical components. The first is the strategic support and conduct of research across a broad range of disciplines. The second is to ensure the rapid and effective dissemination and use of the results of that research to significantly improve drug abuse and addiction prevention, treatment and policy.
