       A simply organized website that offers a lot of links to many different categories and issues concerning nonprofit organizations. It provides links to volunteering and interning opportunities with nonprofit organizations all over the world.        A nonprofit, non-governmental organization dedicated to helping people gain understanding and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world.
       Founded in 1947, it has developed a wide variety of programs and services for students and teachers at secondary through university levels. Today, it is one of the world's leading operators of international exchange programs and related services, like voluntary service. Places US participants in short-term international volunteer projects worldwide. Similar projects in the US for interested volunteers from other countries.
       A very user-friendly site that offers volunteer and internship opportunities as well as information regarding language courses, travel and international educational programs. The site makes information regarding education about the the international community very accessible for students of all levels. This site is definitely worth a visit if one has any interest in studying abroad. -APK

       An international, nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that works to alleviate poverty and homelessness. Builds and renovates simple, decent houses. With the help of the homeowner families, uses volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials. Includes programs in the USA and many Latin American and Caribbean countries.
       A site that is simple and quick to use. It lists the countries and domestic communities where Habitat for Humanity is actively involved in constructing housing for the poor. The information regarding housing shortages, as well as the actions they are taking to improve the situation, is offered in a variety of languages. -APK

       Well organized site that offers opportunities for internships, as well as research links. A very helpful site for anyone wishing to learn a little or study in depth about Latin America. Provides links to political updates and events. -APK

       Created in 1989 to offer volunteer opportunities in international development for people around the world and to bridge cultural and political divisions through one-on-one interactions.  By living together and working with local citizens, volunteers expand their knowledge and experience of the world and contribute in a meaningful way to local needs and sustainable development.
       A very well designed and organized website that offers links to many well established organizations dedicated to improving the global community. Peacework, itself, also provides opportunities to groups, organizations, as well as individuals, interested in taking up a project to improve the world. However, currently there are no projects or trips open to individuals. Any openings will be noted when the site is updated. -APK

       A nonprofit, international development organization. Supports empowerment of impoverished communities in El Salvador to construct sustainable solutions to poverty, underdevelopment and social injustice.
       A well organized website that offers links to other organizations doing similar work, such as the Latin America Working Group and InterAction.        A nonprofit organization offering six month to one-year volunteer positions in five African countries and Mexico. Positions are available with nonprofit development organizations, research institutes, health clinics, community groups and news organizations. Program features a month-long orientation, including intensive language study, followed by an 11-month volunteer placement.
       A site that offers opportunities to work with institutions and organizations in Africa dedicated to improving the community. It provides a wide array of fields from which one can choose his or her area of interest. The site provides inspirational quotes about volunteering.
