diseases," such as breast cancer, osteoporosis, and reproductive cancers, and for
diseases traditionally associated with men, such as heart disease and lung cancer. The
Society pushes for changes in health research policies, practices and priorities as they
affect women. The Society acts as a catalyst in raising key issues before private and
public decision-makers including the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Food and Drug
