Thank God men cannot fly, and lay waste the sky as
well as the earth. We have not inherited this land from our ancestors;
rather we have borrowed it from our children. There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but
not for man's greed. There's so much pollution in the air now that if it
weren't for our lungs there'd be no place to put it all. Lend to God and the earth -- they both pay good
interest. Modern technology Because we don't think about future generations, they
will never forget us. Earth is dearer than gold. I think the environment should be put in the category
of our national security. Defense of our resources is just as important as
defense abroad. Otherwise what is there to defend? Let us a little permit Nature to take her own way; she
better understands her own affairs than we. Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the
trees, then names the streets after them.
We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet
we cut them down. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved. The World we all share is given to us in trust. Every choice we make
regarding the earth, air, and water around us should be made with the objective of
preserving it for all generations to come.
